Will Smith isn’t letting the Oscars mess destroy his career as he’s reportedly plotting a major Hollywood comeback. Reports say the actor is already working on a screen return with “I Am Legend 2.”
According to MTO News;
The movie is being produced by Will’s production company Westbrook Studios. In it, Will reprises his role as scientist Robert Neville fighting for survival and a cure for zombies in post-apocalyptic world.
Akiva Goldsman, the screenwriter who adapted Richard Matheson’s 1954 novel for the original 2007 movie, is including Will’s character in the movie sequel
The first movie was a HUGE hit – it made $585,410,052 at the box office, and even more on streaming services.
According to the reports, which was first seen on the UK’s Sun, no script has been completed yet, but the concept will feature Will. The insider claims that Warner Bros studio has not blacklisted Will from its movies.
A source told The Sun: “The script is being written mentioning his character and as yet Will remains attached to the project.
It should be noted that Smith isn’t planning to have his wife Jada in any future projects and won’t appear on her Red Table Talk even after she tried to manipulate Chris Rock into coming on.
Rock declined to address the matter at his standup events, leaving the door open for everyone from Ricky Gervais to Shaquille O’Neal to weigh in on what happened… and what happens next. Well, following a call from Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, for Chris Rock and Smith to “talk this out and reconcile,” the former SNL star and mainstream comic has let his feelings be known. Basically, Smith shouldn’t be sitting by his phone.
While Chris Rock remains silent on the matter – at least in the public eye – a source close to Rock told ET Online the following:
He’s not concerned with the Smiths at the moment. He’s touring and he’s preparing for a comedy special.
As well he should. One of the healthiest ways to work through a very public event like that would be to keep working. And for Chris Rock, thankfully, he had a comedy tour on his schedule following the Academy Awards, so he was able to get right back into his comfort zone – namely, being on a stage and making jokes. And, hopefully, not getting struck by an audience member for the words that he uses.
