Kim Kardashian, who recently went on a Met Gala ‘diet,’ is being slammed by vegans over her Beyond Meat food advert.
The 41-year-old took to Instagram on May 24 and announced that she is the food company’s ‘chief taste consultant’.
In the 30-second ad, Kardashian said: “I believe so much in the mission of Beyond Meat that I’ve stepped in to help with my greatest asset – my taste.”
As the reality star addressed the camera, numerous plant-based meals were placed in front of her.
One of the dishes was a vegan burger, which she placed close to her face while making a chewing-like motion with her mouth. However, no bite appeared to be taken.
After watching the ad, Kardashian’s fans took to the comments and blasted the star.
“I ain’t buying it because you ain’t really eating it,” one said.
Another added: “This is so inauthentic.”
“She isn’t even eating the food,” a third pitched in. “The burger isn’t even bitten into.”
A fourth commented: “I would have believed this if she had really eaten any of it.”
However, others praised the mum-of-four for encouraging her fans to follow a plant-based diet.
“So much respect for you speaking about this, as a lifelong vegetarian,” one penned. “You are using your voice in ways I have so much respect for.”
A second enthused: “This makes me so happy. The future is vegan!”
Elsewhere in the ad, Kardashian said: “This plant-based meat is not only amazingly delicious, but it’s also better for you and better for the planet.
“It’s a simple change that makes a really big difference.
“And now that I’m Beyond Meat’s Chief Taste Consultant, there’s never been a better time to go beyond.”
