Cardi B was accused of “faking” her Blackness over the weekend, after an image of Cardi’s mom began circulating on social media.
Cardi has always told fans that she was “part Black” – and that her mother was from Trinidad. And because she was part-Black, according to Cardi, she was allowed to use the N Word in her music.
Well over the weekend, someone located a picture of Cardi’s mom – from her job. In the photo, and the caption underneath, Cardi’s mom claims to be from the Dominican Republic and not Trinidad.
Black Twitter went NUTS after the above image was leaked. And so Cardi decided to put out the fire.
She then released a picture of her mom (in the middle) with her two sisters (Cardi’s aunts). It’s clear by the pictures that the women are Afro-Latina.
Besides This, Cardi B and Offset have had an on-and-off marriage. But lately, they appear to be stronger than ever as they recently welcomed their second child, Wave Set Cephus — Offset’s fifth and youngest child.
In a new interview, the WAP hitmaker opened up about her relationship with the Migos rapper — revealing that she’d given him an ultimatum before having their first child, Kulture Kiari Cephus.
Cardi admitted that it took some time before they figured out their marriage. “I feel like our first year, even though we were in love with each other, we had a lot of lust,” she shared.
“We didn’t really know each other like that, because he was doing four shows a week. I was doing four shows a week. We would see each other about three or four times a month.”
